Our Technologies

Our system consisting of a medium-temperature rotary reactor continuously connected to a high-temperature reactor is even able to process materials that cannot otherwise be used, producing either materials or energy. This “gasification island” can be used, for example, to process unrecyclable plastics (plastic composites), non-metal waste from car crushers, sludge that cannot be used agriculturally or other organic compounds.

Description of the evolutiON technology in greater detail:

  • The prepared waste is loaded into the reactor (fractions up to 30 cm).
  • In the first stage rotary reactor, the initial thermal decomposition of the waste takes place, producing raw thermal gas and solid residue from the reaction.
  • Both of these components are continuously fed into a high temperature reactor where the breakdown of this feedstock is completed at temperatures exceeding 1400 °C under partial oxidation, resulting in a closed conversion to synthesis gas and residual inorganic vitrified slag.
  • There are several industrial uses for the inert vitrified slag (petrometallurgy, e.g. basalt products and foam insulating glass).
  • After rapid cooling (without recombination), the synthesis gas is purified by standard methods to remove contaminants. Only synthesis gas produced by such a two-stage, high-temperature technology can be purified to comparable parameters as natural gas making it a viable substitute for natural gas.
  • Synthesis gas can be used to supplement or replace natural gas in existing gas boilers (existing gas technology). Such gas can easily be used to co-generate heat and power. It can also serve as feedstock for refining and additional material processing (membrane separation of hydrogen and CO2, methanol production and fuel production).
  • Electricity produced can be fed into the grid or used for internal consumption - just like the syngas.
  • This is where the loop closes.

EvolutiON 500

  • Two-stage thermal technology continually processing up to 500 kg per hour.
  • The 1st thermal stage consists of a medium-temperature rotary reactor, where the first thermal breakdown takes place at a temperature of 600 °C. The products of the 1st stage are raw thermal gas with high caloric content and solid reaction residue.
  • The 2nd thermal stage consists of a high-temperature reactor in which the breakdown of feedstock is completed under partial oxidation at temperatures exceeding 1400 °C.
  • The thermal stage is supplemented with technology ensuring the gases generated are purified to the degree necessary for further energy use.
  • In addition, the waste to energy plant includes container units with control and management systems and equipment that produce gases for operation.
